MaxCity launches Montebello Smart City

Danny Fon Sing, CEO of MaxCity, gathered the press on Wednesday 25 August 2021 for a site visit of their future smart city, the Montebello Smart City. Renganaden Padayachy, Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, Hemraj Ramnial, Issa Soormally and Ken Poonoosamy respectively Chairman, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Economic Development Board and Roupesh Hematlal, CEO of the HV Group, partner of the project, also participated in this site visit.

The visitors were given a quick tour of the site, nestled on the outskirts of the capital between the M1 motorway and the Grande Rivière Nord-Ouest, before the official presentation of the project.

MaxCity Properties and its partner HV Holdings are the main developers of this project. Construction began on July 1st, 2021. The Montebello Smart City will require an investment of approximately Rs 900 million for the first phase of its development. This site offers unparalleled connectivity to the two main economic hubs of the island: Port Louis (to the North) and Ebene Cybercity (to the South).
